Wade Wilson's mother died of cancer when he was young and his father was abusive up until the day when one of Wade’s friends got ahold of his father’s gun in an altercation and killed him. Wilson served in the military for a brief period before coming back home and becoming a mercenary in his late teens. Like his mother, Wilson contracted cancer later on and cut ties from his girlfriend and others. He found the Weapon X program who promised to help him. The Weapon X program gave Wilson an implantation of a healing factor derived from the mutant Wolverine, another agent from the company before. The result of the experiment became the twisted anti hero, the Merc with a Mouth himself, Deadpool.
